Pilates for seniors
The body changes over time and this is why we need to adapt our exercise program in response to our body's requirements. Pilates is a gentle exercise regime, which is efficient without putting too much pressure on your joints.
This method strengthens your muscles, mobilises your articulations, lengthens your shape whilst working gently your cardio vascular system.By increasing your balance and body awareness Pilates prevents falls, which may become more frequent over time. It makes you move your body in a more controlled manner, this allows you to have more endurance, to perform your daily activities like gardening or taking care of your grandkids. It improves your posture, by continuing to keep your spine mobile and active thereby counteracting the development of lordosis (hunched back).
Pilates 2 times a week in conjunction with a bit of walking, swimming, bike-riding, prevents chronic back pain, osteoporosis, cardiovascular and blood pressure problems. Exercise also regulates sleep patterns and weight gain.
Our Pilates classes in Brussels are organised by appointment only, one on one basis or in small groups (max of 3). With a specialised program to respond to demand of people of 60+.
"Thank you for helping me to enjoy life again"

"Dear Géraldine, just wanted to let you know what a difference you have made to my life. After 30 years of back pain from injuries leading to spinal degeneration and my more recent knee surgery I was feeling very limited and rather discouraged until I met up with you. Following your very knowledgable treatment and careful action plan for me I was (miracle of miracles), able to undertake that long plane journey and overseas trip with my very energetic family. What joy at 74 years of age. Thank you for restoring my mobility and my confidence, and enabling me to enjoy my life again. Regards" Norma Beattie.
